Porcelain dental veneers can hide discolouration and cracks in your teeth, providing an easy way to whiten your smile permanently. Rely on our Halifax dentists to help bring back your natural, white smile.
What are dental veneers?
Veneers are wafer-thin, tooth-shaped pieces of porcelain. Custom-made to fit your teeth, porcelain veneers generally last longer than composite resin. They are bonded to the fronts of your teeth to change the look of your smile and protect the surface of your teeth from further damage and discolouration.
Dental Veneers in Halifax: Our Process
Because porcelain veneers permanently change the look of your smile for the better, we follow a process to ensure an optimal outcome.
First, you and your dentist will meet to decide which parts of your smile you'd like to improve. Provided you are a good candidate for veneers, the dentist will prepare your tooth by removing half a millimetre of enamel before taking impressions, which will be sent to a lab.
The veneers will then be custom-made to fit your tooth and your mouth. They will be affixed to your teeth using cement resin. Generally, this process takes at least two visits to our dental office.
Dental Veneers in Halifax: The Benefits
Dental veneers are a less invasive alternative to dental crowns, and don't require as much reshaping of your teeth.
They look and function like your natural teeth by mimicking your enamel's smoothness and translucency. They improve the colour and shape of your existing teeth, and can be used to fix chipping, alignment, spacing, sizing and erosion issues.
